South Florida corporate and event photography is extremely popular because this area includes such a wide range of activities and places to visit. \u00a0Our beach front hotels are unique in the sense that they can be utilized in a wide range of various ways. \u00a0In my years as a photographer, I have photographed lots of \u00a0beach parties and corporate functions which have included games that are designed for team building. \u00a0Our wide beaches could also be used for as a location or a large group photos. \u00a0We have often been called upon to shoot an overhead group shot with our drone. \u00a0Some of the group photos include the services of professional sand writer or beach artist who can write something in the sand such as their company name or a message. \u00a0 By using our drone we can position all the employees around signage to get a very unique photograph.<\/p>\n

BELOW: Push up booth. This photo was taken during a special event beer bash at PGA National. Sometimes getting down low is the best way to photograph the action. For this photo the camera was sitting on the convention flow and tilted up just enough the capture the attendees face.<\/p>\n

As a South Florida event photographer, I have seen all kinds of corporate events and special acts. One popular \u00a0act which is very common is synchronized swimmers at an event. \u00a0When you scroll down a few pictures you will see a photo taken in at a corporate event which took place at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in Hollywood Florida<\/a>\u00a0which featured swimmers in the pool on the hotel deck which overlooked the Atlantic Ocean. \u00a0It was quite a sight and provided entertainment for all the attendees. \u00a0This is something we can do here year round, so it has become popular with corporate events and parties to feature this type of entertainment. Some corporate parties have elected to have us shoot portraits of guests usually against a special backdrop they create and then print out the photos that night and give them to the guests in custom frames or folders. This is a really nice souvenir or take-away for the attendees. People seem to love this goodie.<\/p>\n

As a Florida convention photographer, I\u2019ve had the opportunity to cover some of the most exciting professional events across the state \u2014 from luxury hotel gatherings to major trade expos. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing the Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Convention at the Palm Beach Convention Center, a two-day event filled with beauty professionals, vendors, and industry innovators.<\/p>\n

For this particular convention, my assignment was twofold: capture the energy of the show floor \u2014 including the booths, product displays, and networking moments \u2014 and provide professional headshots for the attendees. The convention organizers wanted to offer something extra to their guests, something that would be both valuable and memorable. A complimentary professional headshot session turned out to be a huge success.<\/p>\n

Photographing 1,000 Headshots in Two Days<\/p>\n

The event drew close to a thousand attendees over two days. The first day was absolutely bustling \u2014 I photographed around 650 headshots. The pace was fast, but every single person who stepped in front of my camera deserved a polished, confident portrait. My goal was to make each image look like it could belong on LinkedIn or a professional website \u2014 beautifully lit, natural, and flattering.<\/p>\n

The second day, a Monday, was slightly more relaxed. I photographed an additional 300\u2013400 headshots, giving attendees more time for one-on-one attention and posing guidance. Every headshot was uploaded to a private online gallery, where attendees could easily log in with a passcode to download their photos. The feedback I received afterward was incredible \u2014 my inbox quickly filled with kind messages and emails from attendees who loved their portraits.<\/p>\n

Capturing the Energy of a Convention<\/p>\n

While the headshots were the main focus, I also made sure to document the event itself. The Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Convention featured beautifully designed booths, product demonstrations, and educational sessions. My goal as a Florida convention photographer is always to tell the story of the event \u2014 not just what it looked like, but what it felt like to be there.<\/p>\n

By photographing both the large-scale atmosphere and the personal, human moments, I deliver a complete visual story that my clients can use for marketing, social media, and next year\u2019s promotions.<\/p>\n

BELOW<\/strong>: Photographing convention speakers is one of the top assignments a special event photographer will be required to handle. To do this well requires skill and timing. The key is to get a photo of the speaker looking good while he or she is lecturing. If the photographers timing is off then the photographer will get the speaker making a funny face. You can\u2019t just take one photo of the speaker with his or her tongue hanging out. The photographer has to keep shooting until the perfect image is captured. One word of caution. If the photographer shoots too much then the speaker may become distracted or annoyed. The skill is in getting the right shot with the least amount of distraction<\/p>\n

As a still photographer I made it a point to capture hand gestures to convey to the viewer that the person was making a point. As a corporate client it’s important to hire a photographer who is capable of photographing in a wide range of environments. This photo was taken at night in a low light situation. Event though the attendees could see clearly as the photographer I had to use my manual camera settings so that my camera could freeze the action and with the help of a electronic flash get a perfectly exposed picture.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

I shot this during a karate special event here in South Florida. As a producer of\u00a0South Florida corporate event photography, I am asked to photograph a wide range of event types. \u00a0This event included photographing this smaller karate event in which a karate master attended and gave instruction as well as a much larger event which took place the next day. \u00a0Because there was lots of action during this special event I had to pick my shooting location carefully. \u00a0It looks like a simple and easy photo to take, however getting this shot required great timing and the use of bounce flash to get nice soft even lighting.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

Years ago I was hired to shoot several corporate events that featured some famous Super Bowl players.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I must admit, it’s awesome when I get to photograph famous people. \u00a0The pictures above and below are from a charity event in which I got to hang, and take photos with some serious football stars. \u00a0Actually Super Bowl players. \u00a0Now I must admit, I’m not a huge football fan, but I will watch a few games every now and then. \u00a0However, as a South Florida professional photographer I must admit it’s really cool when I get hired to shoot these unique and interesting jobs.<\/p>\n

As a South Florida based photographer, I sometimes get to take pictures of famous people. Even though from time to time I get shoot famous people and celebrities it’s important that I focus on getting the best possible pictures.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

These pictures of various football players centered around various charity events and corporate events. \u00a0Some of the charity events took place in Palm Beach and others took place in Fort Lauderdale and Miami. \u00a0Basically these events which surrounded the Super Bowl kept me traveling all around South Florida, \u00a0 When photographing theses types of events it’s important do blend in with the attendees but also shoot in such a way as to capture good expressions and hand gestures.<\/p>\n

Hiring us to cover your charity or special event. \u00a0While charity events take place create funds which will get donated to various charities, a photographer especially a professional photographer will most likely need to charge for their services. \u00a0Being able to photograph any type of event requires the skillset required put the camera in the correct place at the correct moment and with the correct exposure settings. \u00a0Most professional photographers have spent years honing their craft. \u00a0In addition a pro photographer should have a pro-grade camera. \u00a0When you consider the cost of the photo gear and the years of experience, plus the cost of staying in business, its easy to understand why a talented photographer would need to be compensated for the coverage. \u00a0As a professional photographer in South Florida, I take into account several factors before I quote a price on a charity event. \u00a0Some of the factors I consider are, the day and time of the event. \u00a0If the event date is only a few days away, and I happen to be available, I could be more flexible on price. \u00a0Another consideration is retouching. \u00a0When I photograph a wedding or corporate event retouching is required. \u00a0Retouching images could take hours, \u00a0in the case of headshots, a professional photographer is judged by how good they can make people look, to make people look their best photo retouching is often required.<\/p>\n

BELOW: \u00a0<\/strong>The pictures below were taken at a special event in which I was hired to cover a fun team building event in Miami. \u00a0Actually the event took place at the Ritz – Carlton on Key Biscayne.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0This was for a company that was interested in hiring the smartest and most creative people possible. \u00a0They hosted this event as a way of meeting the possible employees and showing them a great time while seeing how they work together as a group. \u00a0The purpose of this activity was to have each group construct the legos into a figure of a person using certain colors in special places. \u00a0As the photographer it was my job to capture the guests working to solve the problems presented and the show them enjoying the process.<\/p>\n
